Children are the most affected by the current crisis

TERRES DES HOMMES LAUNCHES DONATIONS TO SUPPORT HAITIAN CHILDREN FOR 82 CENTS PER DAY FOR A YEAR. Children are the most affected by Haiti’s escalating violence. Challenges faced by Haiti’s most vulnerable citizens include lack of access to water, food and basic healthcare. Schools, which are an important source of food, education and safety for many Haitian children, have not yet launched the 2022-2023 school year. Terre des Hommes Italia is seeking donations to cover basic needs for children: providing school material, food and hygiene kits, paying school fees, and assisting their families.

Terre des Hommes Italia has been present in Haiti since 2010 focusing on child protection and education. In Haiti, 80% of primary education is provided by private institutions, since there are not enough places available in public schools. Frequently vulnerable Haitian families are not in the position pay school fees, or they manage to pay only for a semester or less (school fees average 100-120 US dollars per year in primary education). Terre des Hommes Italia facilitates access to education for children whose families cannot afford to pay tuition fees. In addition, we support families with psychosocial support and training on income generating activities.

THROUGH YOUR HELP, TERRE DES HOMMES ITALIA CAN CONTINUE TO PROVIDE SCHOOL MATERIAL, HYGIENE KITS AND PAY TUITION FEES TO CHILDREN IN NEED AND SUPPORT THEIR FAMILIES.
